Harvest

This week we have been learning all about harvest festival. The children learnt that it is a celebration of the food that is grown and is often celebrated in churches by bringing baskets of food to give thanks to God.  We also discussed how as a school, we like to share what we have with others who are less fortunate by bringing in food from home. To mark the occasion we also made our very own scarecrows and discussed how they are placed in farmers feilds to scare away animals and to keep the crops safe. The children also enjoyed baking a loaf bread to share as a class.
