Mad about Minibeasts

This week we have been learning about minibeasts. We have built a bug hotel in our outdoor area. After sharing the story Superworm we challenged ourselves to make Superworms by threading seven beads or cotton reels and investigating how we can make it longer or shorter whilst still using seven. We have made colourful repeating pattern caterpillars, with seven parts and practising writing the matching calculations to show how many of each colour we have used. We have also independently made our own butterflies with moveable wings and put our phonics skills into action when describing different minibeasts!
