Science in Y6

Date: 7th Dec 2022 @ 5:13pm

Y6 have been learning about adaptation in science lessons. We looked at how polar bears have adapted to living in the arctic tundra and even felt how a layer of fat would help keep the bear warm by simulating this with cold water and lard. Children have researched an animal which lives in the savannah and we created some amazing double page spreads.

Following on from this we did an experiment looking at  birds’ beaks and how these have adapted according to their food. This was lots of fun and brought out the competitive spirit in the class.
