SEND
At Sutton Oak C.E. Primary School we believe that every child is uniquely created by God. We are guided by our Christain values, commited to nurturing and supporting all pupils, so that they may flourish academically, socially and spititually. We strive to maintain an inclusive community where each individual is valued and encouraged to become the person God intended them to be. In order to do this, many steps are taken to support all children through their learning journeys. Quality teaching is vital; however for some children there are occasions when further additional support may be needed to help them fulfil their potential. For more information about how we do this, please refer to our SEND Policy and also our SEN Information report.
The Children and Families Bill (2014) requires Local Authorities and Schools to publish and keep under review, information about services available for the children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their local area. This is called the 'Local Offer'. The intention of the local offer is to improve chioce and transparency for families. It is also an important resource for parents in understanding the range of services and provision in the local area. The St.Helens local offer can be found below at
At Sutton Oak, we use the St.Helens Local; Offer to help us to meet the needs of our SEND pupils and their families.
The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) at Sutton Oak is Mrs McGovern. The deputy SENDCO is Mrs Devereux.
